North Carolina Museum of Art

Have you ever been to the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh? Oh my goodness, it’s one of my absolute favorite spots for senior sessions! Seriously, it’s perfect for both guys and gals, which is a big win in my book. There are just so many backdrops to choose from and my session with Katie really shows off this venue! It’s like having a different scenic location at every turn.
You've got these super cool walls, structures, water features, bridges and boulders that add amazing texture to the photos. I’m talking about unique features that give each shot a little flair. A favorite of mine being the weeping willow tree! And let’s not forget the gorgeous open fields with that dreamy tall grass in the fall. Depending on the time of year, the wildflower fields are simply stunning and make for a colorful backdrop that’s just bursting with personality. We can also explore the stairs, benches, and even some funky stadium seating for some seriously creative angles. The combination of stone, brick, rock and nature creates such a rich tapestry for portraits—it's like nature and architecture high-fived!

In case you’re wondering about the best time for a senior session, both spring and fall are incredible. Go check out my blog: "When the Best Time to Schedule Your Senior Session?" for help on deciding which one is best for you. So if you’re thinking about doing a senior photo shoot, the museum grounds are definitely a place to consider! It’s the kind of place where we can really cover a ton of ground and get a variety of shots, all while having a good time and capturing your unique style. I can't tell you how many great memories I’ve made there, and I know you will too!
